In 2021 we were hired by The Ocean Clean Up to test the prototype for a retention system aimed at removing plastics from the ocean.

The trials took place off the coast of Holland using 3 support vessels. I was involved for the pre-planning and live trials of the system while based in Rotterdam. The system proved to be a great success.

The Ocean Clean Up is now actively using this Retention System in the Pacific to remove plastic from the Ocean.

There are plans to use the system worldwide.
